The Smiths "Pablo Cuckoo Tape" LP

$ 20.00

A rare rehearsal recording of The Smiths, made in 1983 ahead of the band's debut EP, released the next year. Former Smiths drummer Mike Joyce revealed that it was "recorded on a cassette player lying on the floor in the rehearsal room", but that he didn't know who had unearthed the demo, saying: "I thought I was the only one who kept all the old stuff, obviously not." The Smiths made the recording in May 1983 at band manager Joe "Crazy Face" Moss's warehouse in Manchester. The demo was made for record producer Troy Tate to work with before he went into the studio with the band.
